Bakery Assistant
To assist in all areas of production of quality artisan doughnuts and other finished goods from start to finish on a rotational basis. To ensure that all tasks are carried out to the required standards expected. Training to be provided – Candidates with a catering background will be considered for the position. Experience in the food industry is essential.
ROLE REQUIREMENT

Duties will include:
- Dough Production
-
- Weighing out ingredients in line with recipe standard, working on dough table, shaping the dough and forming doughnuts in the BDM, checking doughnut shape and correcting before placing on trays for first prove, loading full trolleys in prover in order.
- Frying and Sugaring
- Learning how to use the fryers safely and efficiently – training provided, frying doughnuts to the required specifications and stacking in the bakery trays to cool, coating doughnuts in sugar or other ingredients in line with recipe requirements
- Filling, Decorating & Packing
- Glazing doughnuts in fondant or other ingredients, filling doughnuts to required specification, quality checking at all times, understanding and following strict portion control, understanding daily plan, ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed so the right amount of product is used with no wastage.
- General
- Follow all health and safety regulations, ensure all equipment is used safely , responsibly and cleaned an maintained effectively, maintain food hygiene standards, operate within good manufacturing practices “clean as you go”, wastage and portion control
- Candidates with a catering background will be considered for the position. Experience in the food industry is essential.
The hours of work include weekends and working a night shift.
The shift are: Weds – 6am – 11am, Thursday – 1.30am – 10am, Friday – 1.30am – 10am, Saturday – 1.30am – 8.30am
Sunday – 04.30am – 08.00am
You will be paid £10.50 p/hr.
